Two years of planning culminated in a professional conference where 218 people presented technical papers and made new contacts, ate lots of food and socialized. Beth Fifield chaired the 11-member committee that planned PNWIS’ annual meeting held in Pasco, Washington. During the three-day conference, five technical panels discussed current environmental issues and more than 70 papers were presented on a variety of air, water, waste and nuclear issues. In addition 28 exhibitors displayed their wares and discussed their services in the exhibition hall. Entertainment included a evening reception and a progressive wine tasting tour of local wineries: Hedges, Gordon Brothers, Barnard Griffin and Badger Mountain. We have heard only positive comments from those who attended. |
